terra sophia - earth wisdom

Terra Sophia is the basket into which my services, herbal and creative offerings are lovingly kept. Terra Sophia refers to ‘earth wisdom’, or ‘wisdom of the land’, the guiding and guarding force behind all that I do on this he(art) path.

my story

Sophia Miglio

My name is Sophia Love Miglio. I wear many hats, all tending the same hearth of creation. I am a Birth Guardian/doula, traditional postpartum care provider, herbalist, spinner, weaver, and lifelong student of the plants, elements, and the school of Life.

My path in this lifetime is in devotion to women’s medicine wisdom and holistic root care. It is an honor to walk alongside women and families through life’s transformative thresholds with presence, tenderness, and compassionate care.

I was initiated as a birth guardian through two lived experiences: a pregnancy release that expanded my awareness of the spirit door that is the womb-space; and stepping into my dharma as a caregiver while tending to my grandfather as he transitioned into death realms.

My love for the wild world is rooted in my barefoot childhood in Belize, growing up between the dense jungle and Caribbean sea, where I return often to reconnect with elemental guardians, ceibas, banana birds, and over the years, study traditional birth arts. After living in Belize, Mexico and Turtle Island, in 2016 the heart-path sung loudly and I listened — buying a one way ticket to France. A calling that I now recognize as the European ancestors inviting me to renew my relationship to my origins.

I now live in the heart of the Pyrénées in Ariège, honored to be a human Guardian to a beautiful piece of land, where I offer holistic birth accompaniment, traditional postpartum care, sobadas/pelvic centered bodywork, and small-batch homegrown herbal folk remedies.

I thank my teachers on this path ; Doña Angelina Martinez Miranda, Daniela Salinas, Aya Maria Maldonado, Rachelle Seliga, Rosita Arvigo in the lineage of Don Elijio Panti, Hortense Robinson and the traditional healers and midwives of Belize, Koa Kalish, Rosemary Gladstar, Thich Nhat Hanh and Plum Village community, every baby I’ve ever held, the unname-able plant teachers and elemental guardians, the waterways and ecosystems that raised me, the high up places and territories I love marrow-deep.
