sobadas

womb - abdominal massage

How do we tend to our centers? This soft, vast belly territory holds so much. House of creative Life force, the place we’ve all come into being. A place that holds tension, grief, memory. A place we may not be used to receiving tender, healing touch. It is an immense honor to tend to our centers.

This work is rooted in presence, deep listening, and reverence for the innate intelligence of our bodies that know how to come back into harmony.

Listening hands glide over the belly territory to guide the uterus into optimal position, encourage circulation of blood, lymph, life force, and nerves to abdominal organs, improve digestion, and much more..

  • “The uterus is a woman’s center. If it is out of balance, then she will be physically, emotionally and spiritually. out of balance.” - Don Elijio Panti, traditional Maya h’men of Belize

Sobadas - abdominal/womb massage is for everyone, at every stage of Life. Menstruation - pre-conception - pregnancy - postpartum - menopause.

When we tend to the center, we are innately moving stagnant energy, inviting what is no longer needed to be shed, and tending to the house of creation - fertility ; whether we’re looking to call in a baby or manifest a dream.

    This work can…

    • help re-establish profound connection to our root space - our seat of power.

    • address root causes of painful / irregular menstrual cycles

    • be deeply relaxing and ease common discomforts throughout pregnancy

    • facilitate postpartum healing

    • improve fertility for those looking to invite pregnancy

    • holistic endometriosis / PCOS treatment

    • enhance immune system

    • improve digestion / constipation

    • relieve chronic indigestion / heartburn

    • aide in full body detoxification

    • tend to prolapse of uterus / bladder

    • tend to fibroids / cysts

    • lovingly tend to tension and trauma from sexual abuse

  • Holistic root-care begins with a warm cup of herbal tea or cacao. We make space for your story to unfold and explore the intention for the session; be it wanting to prepare the womb to invite a pregnancy, explore root causes of menstrual pains & irregularities, facilitate postpartum healing, or whatever reason on your journey that leads you to my care.

Ritual bodywork sessions interweave deep, yet gentle, Maya abdominal massage with various sobada techniques from traditional midwives across cultures, craniosacral therapy, warming modalities (ie. moxa), plant medicine, and rebozo techniques. All rituals unfold intuitively and vary depending on individual needs & constitutions.

I take time after each session to teach uterine/abdominal self-massage techniques and prepare custom herbal remedies upon request.

  • Holistic ritual bodywork session 90 minutes - 80€

Sliding scale pricing is available, as is the possibility of bartering/exchange for goods or services that are of a retro-nourishing value.

Across cultures, the postpartum period is honored as a sacred time for a mother to nest, heal, and bond — and in doing so, lay a lasting foundation of vitality for herself and her family.

In a time of disconnection from ancestral ways, it is an honor to support women and families through this tender, transformative rite of passage. As we collectively remember and birth a culture rooted in care, I believe the well-being of our communities begins with how we tend to our mothers.

Honoring the physiological reality of the mother-baby dyad as one interconnected being, the care I offer places a loving emphasis on:

𖦹 preparing delicious, nutrient-dense, easy to digest meals rooted in Traditional Mexican Medicine, Ayurveda and TCM wisdom - though adapted to honor ancestral foods of our specific lineages.

𖦹 warming modalities such as sitz baths, postpartum herbal baths, perineal/yoni steams, and moxibustion to tend to the fire in our wombs.

𖦹 sobadas + gentle bodywork for both mama and baby, to nourish and tone the nervous system, encourage the uterus into optimal position and facilitate postpartum healing.

𖦹 ritual & ceremony through closing of the bones ceremonies and honoring the Placenta through rituals and preparation of placenta medicine: encapsulation, tinctures, salves, natural band-aides, chocolates, dream catchers, etc.
